Privacy policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy explains how James Wright trading as Green Squad Dorset ("Green Squad", "we", "us") uses your personal data when you use greensquad.co.uk. We are the data controller.
Who we are
Green Squad is a free matching service for homeowners in Dorset. We pass enquiries about solar panels, batteries, heat pumps and EV chargers to no more than 3 independent local installers. We do not install anything ourselves.
Contact: info@greensquad.co.uk, The Paddocks, Wimborne, BH21 2BZ.
What we collect
- Quote requests: the service you want, your postcode, answers about your property, your name, email address and phone number, and your consent choice.
- Installer applications: business name, contact name, contact details, areas covered, accreditation details.
- Contact messages: your name, email and message.
- Technical data: basic server logs from our hosting provider. Analytics cookies only if you accept them (see our cookie policy).
How we use it and our lawful basis
- Matching you with installers (consent): with your consent, we share your quote request with up to 3 installers who cover your postcode so they can contact you about a quote. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
- Following up on your request (legitimate interests): we may contact you to check you were contacted and are happy with the service.
- Running the installer network (contract / legitimate interests): processing installer applications and managing our relationship with installers.
- Legal obligations: keeping records we are required to keep.
We never sell your details and never share them with more than 3 installers for a single request.
Who we share it with
- Up to 3 installers in our network (each an independent data controller for your data once received). We will email you the names of the installers we pass your details to.
- Service providers who help run the site: Netlify (website hosting and forms) and Spaceship (domain and email forwarding).
These providers are based in the United States. Where your data is processed outside the UK, we rely on UK adequacy regulations (including the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or the International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum.
How long we keep it
Quote requests: 24 months after your enquiry, then deleted. Installer records: for the length of the relationship plus 6 years. Contact messages: 12 months.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict or object to how we use it, ask for a copy to move elsewhere, and withdraw consent at any time. Email info@greensquad.co.uk. We will respond within one month.
If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We will post any changes to this policy on this page.
